MATTIJS VAN BERGEN | PHOTO TO FASHION

For the exhibition entitled Photo to Fashion, the Nederlands Fotomuseum and the Dutch fashion designer Mattijs van Bergen have entered into an exceptional cultural collaborative venture. Inspired by the iconic black-and-white photography in the Museum collection, including works by Ed van der Elsken, Aart Klein, Richard Tepe and Nico Jesse, among others, Van Bergen has designed a new fashion collection. Seeking an exciting combination between image, material and technique, Van Bergen gives the photographs a new dimension through his designs.

Commissioned by the Nederlands Fotomuseum, the Dutch fashion photographers Sacha van Dorssen, Wendelien Daan and the duo Petrovsky & Ramone will capture the fashion collection for posterity. The fashion photographs will be exhibited along with the designs.
