Meghan Markle lost the ability to address rumours about her publicly when she married Prince Harry last May, Ms Bromley claimed. The Duchess of Sussex has come under public scrutiny after rumours emerged of an ongoing feud with sister-in-law Kate allegedly triggered during a tense confrontation during wedding rehearsals. The royal expert suggested Meghan is on track to receive the same treatment Princess Diana received in the early days of her marriage with Prince Charles.
Ms Bromley said: "Now she is a member of the Royal Family, she’s lost her voice and is not able to actually say ‘hey, Kate and I are not arguing every Sunday over our roast dinner. We actually get on okay
"She’s not able to actually stick up for herself. I don’t think anyone could have prepared her for this level of attention."
She continued: "While it was great at first – it looks great on the outside, becoming a duchess, becoming a princess – but it’s horrific. It’s a gilded cage and now she’s under so much negative attention and there’s nothing she can do about it.
"This is what Diana went through. Honestly, the similarities between what she’s going through and what Diana went through initially – before Diana became a saint in the press."

"When Diana and Charles first got married, it was terrible for Diana. And Meghan is going through the same thing."
Meghan is thought to be struggling due to ongoing media reports of a feud with the Duchess of Cambridge.
A source close to the Duchess of Sussex told US Weekly that Meghan is “definitely bothered by all the reports and speculation” and that she has trouble ignoring the negative press.
Since the 37-year-old American actress became a member of the Royal Family last May, she has been dogged by rumours of a rift between her and Prince William’s wife, Kate.
A royal insider said: “Meghan has so much on her plate, between being pregnant and dealing with the public backlash, and she’s finding the whole situation incredibly stressful.”
Meghan’s feelings are in turn affecting Harry, who “feels responsible for Meghan being so miserable”.

Meghan is thought not to read tabloid news, but is aware of the reports emerging about her.
The Duchess of Sussex is believed to find not being able to respond to claims “frustrating” and feels she has “no voice”.
The source said: “She’s always relied on her own voice to stand up for others, and for herself.
“So not being able to say anything is a debilitating feeling."
Rumours of a feud were further exacerbated by Kensington Palace announcing Meghan and Prince Harry will move to the Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate before the birth of their first child. The Sussexes currently live in London next to Kate and Prince William.
Despite the bombardment, Meghan has kept smiling while on official outings with her husband.
She was even pictured chatting happily with the Duchess of Cambridge when the Royal Familyattended a church service on Christmas Day.
