Meghan Markle appears to mirror Princess Diana tonight in a sparkly dress and the late royal's bracelet at Royal Albert Hall.

Alongside Prince Harry, she will tonight watch Cirque du Soleil performers display their acrobatic skills at a star-studded show.

The duchess, 37, has accompanied her husband to Royal Albert Hall to enjoy the Totem performance, which will support a charity which supports children and young people affected by HIV in southern Africa.

Meghan is wearing a sequined Roland Mouret dress with a leg slit, worth £3,400, similar to an iconic gown Diana was pictured in back in 1986.

She's also wearing Princess Diana's heirloom gold bangle, which features two dark-coloured stones.

The elegant bracelet was seen on Diana during an outing to an elderly people's home in Newham, east London, in 1990.

Her black heels are a Stuart Weitzman design while her purse is a Givenchy jewelled clutch.

The royal couple have met representatives of the Sentebale charity, Cirque du Soleil and members of the cast.

Meghan also paid tribute to Harry's late mum when she wore the bracelet during an engagement in Sydney with her husband last October.

A-list celebs including Amber Le Bon, Dani Dyer, Sir David Jason and Elizabeth Hurley are believed to also be present this evening at the plush venue in Kensington, west London.

Kensington Palace has tweeted: "The evening will raise awareness and funds for Sentebale’s work with children and young people affected by HIV."

Harry is a patron of Sentebale.

The couple told organisers tonight they "loved" the work of the circus.

Johnny Hornby, chairman of Sentebale, said of the circus: “We knew these guys were fans.”

Told by organisers that he hoped they enjoyed the show, Harry joked: “Everyone loves this. It’s just the health and safety that gets in the way.”

Diana was a fashion style icon, whose style was emulated around the world.

In 1980 for instance, sales of Hunter Wellington boots rocketed after she was snapped wearing a pair.

The royal also used fashion and style to endorse her charitable causes, like her sons do now.

Mr Hornby said: "At Sentebale, a large part of our educational work with children and adolescents has focused around engaging them through play, entertainment and music.

"We're very grateful to everyone at Cirque du Soleil for giving us the opportunity to shine a light on the work that Sentebale does to help children and young adults affected by HIV to live happy, healthy and productive lives."

Daniel Lamarre, Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group's chief executive, said: "We strive to make a difference in the lives of youths and encourage them to change the world.

"It is because both our organisations share these very values that we will proudly dedicate our Totem premiere to the Sentebale Nights, a perfect way to allow us to raise significant funds and awareness together."
