The Queen was left intrigued by self-service checkouts. The monarch, 93, questioned whether customers are able to ‘cheat’ and leave without paying when she was shown the technology during a visit to a pop-up Sainsbury’s in London, England. | May 22, 2019
The Queen was shown a shopping basket from 1953, the year of her Coronation, alongside one from today.
One item that caught her eye from 1953 was an empty jar of bloater paste, a fish paste made from herring. ‘Disgusting’ the Queen said. Sainsbury’s employee Lynn Bennett agreed. | May 22, 2019
Estábamos viendo el documental de la BBC sobre Sainsbury’s y al salir la visita de la Reina nos ha hecho mucha gracia que cuando le enseñan la “tienda” de los años 40 y una cartilla de racionamiento, lo que dice recordar la Reina es que si tenías una granja a mano (como ellos tenían) no era tan horroroso el racionamiento, pero que lo que no había en ningún sitio eran chuches, jajaja.
