THE MONTE-CARLO FASHION WEEK (MCFW ©) BACK IN THE PRINCIPALITY
by Eleonora Pedron MONACO. Runway shows, presentations, meetings and lifestyle events will be part of the 5th edition of the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week, (MCFW©) under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco, scheduled from June 1-3, 2017, in the Principality of Monaco, one of the most glamorous places in the world. Organized by the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode (CMM), in partnership with the Government, the City Hall and the Tourism Office of the Principality of Monaco, the MCFW© is the perfect opportunity to showcase the Principality’s welcoming ambiance and its elegant lifestyle. The rich calendar provides a succession of fashion shows and presentations, of resort and swimwear collections and pre-collections prêt-à-porter Spring/Summer 2018, premiering to the public and the media at the Fashion Village of Fontvieille in Monaco, under the artistic direction of Rosanna Trinchese who has been overseeing every creative aspect of the MCFW© since its first edition.



With each new edition the MCFW © gains in prestige thanks to the participation of relevant names in the international fashion arena, and a parterre formed not only by celebrities from the international Gotha who usually frequent the Principality, but also buyers, retailers, department stores, International journalists and social influencers. Contemporary fashion is eclectic and multicultural, revealing itself in its most authentic form at the MCFW © , through the innovative creations of talented emerging designers from Monaco, France, Italy, England, Russia, Greece, Hungary, Belarus, Cameroon. They generate a lively multicultural exchange, providing a combination of styles, cultures and visions in a successful combination of fashion, art and design.

The Monte-Carlo Fashion Week 2017 will coincidentally be held during the Italian National Day on Friday, June 2 and will celebrate the Made-in-Italy with an exceptional guest, Chiara Boni , the renowned and revolutionary Italian designer. She will have the honor of closing the runway on Friday, June 2 with her collection Chiara Boni - La Petite Robe. "You Tarzan, Me Jane", headquartered in Milan, showroom in the prestigious Via del Gesù, passionate about politics, life, dogs and sailing. Launched back in December 2012 by HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco, the Foundation's primary goal is to save lives by putting an end to drowning. Its mission is to raise public awareness about the dangers of water, teach children to swim while learning safety measures through the "Learn to Swim" and "Water Safety" programs. The Foundation is equally involved in communicating the values of sport such as discipline, respect for oneself and for others, determination and teamwork. The "Sport & Education" program is based on the belief that sport is a tool that contributes to the wellbeing and development of children.

The three-day program will be full of events like B2B meetings, rendezvous for the fashion business, round tables, and the opening Ceremony Gala & Awards on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the magnificent and legendary Oceanographic Museum of Monaco.

Es peculiar que con el dineral que usarán las socialites de Monaco en sus trajes, con el famoso glamour de Monaco y con la representación que las mujeres de la familia principesca hacen de ciertas firmas: Chanel, Gucci, Akris,... este fashion week no sea lo más de lo más.

Ojalá tenga asistencia renombrada, porque ya el baile de la Rosa no atrae lo que atraía, así que a ver si este Fashion Week lo hace.
